Work Mobile Phone Agreement

The purpose of this policy is to help us make the most of the benefits that mobile phones offer to our business, while minimizing the distractions, accidents and frustrations that misuse of the mobile phone can cause. These problems can have consequences for businesses of all types and sizes. Don`t assume that only companies with multiple employees should implement a cell phone policy. Even if you only have one employee, you will need a cell phone policy. These devices (and how we use them) have played their part in reshaping the work-life culture we now live in. But how do you go about creating your own cell phone policy at work? Sling`s experts reveal everything you need to know and provide a template to get you started. You should always write down your cell phone policy, make it part of your employee manual, and ask everyone to sign that they understand it. Add language that covers all technologies that can access the Internet and send and receive phone calls and text messages. To give you an idea of how to incorporate all the necessary information into your cell phone policy, we`ve created a strategy template below.

Feel free to customize this template to suit your specific business, and if you need to make updates, use Sling`s newsfeed feature to let everyone on your team know. Our mobile phone policy applies to all owners, managers and employees. Business owners must make certain decisions regarding employees` use of mobile phones before creating the policy. Even after a company has introduced a policy, it can change it at any time. When it comes to writing the policy, a company may choose to write a general policy for all employees or design a policy on a case-by-case basis. Employees can use their phones during breaks or lunch breaks and in the stationary vehicle. If you have employees who send too many text messages and put their time into their personal devices, they`re wasting their working time – the time you pay them every week. Almost everyone who works today has a mobile phone. A corporate mobile phone policy is a useful way for a company to set and enforce a set of expectations regarding mobile phone use at work.

It`s possible. Mobile phones – especially smartphones – have been part of the cultural redesign of the workplace over the past decade. Smartphone “apps” and improved connectivity (4G and WiFi) allowed a person to read emails, send messages, manage finances, check the weather, connect with people, send photos, read news updates, record conversations, listen to music, take notes, scan objects, etc., all with a portable device. Oh, did we mention that these devices can also talk to us? It really depends on the company. For certain types of businesses where the distraction of a cell phone could be dangerous, a cell phone policy might be a good idea. For other companies, a no-cell phone policy at work could be a big diversion for potential employees or hinder employees` ability to do their jobs. A corporate cell phone policy reduces distraction and frustration at work by clearly indicating when it`s okay and when not to use a cell phone during work hours. They are also known as cell phone policies for employees. These mobile phone agreements are formulated in the form of formal contracts, often starting with sentences describing the subject matter of the contract, the responsibilities of both parties, the process of terminating the contract, and a statement of liability. The contract also includes the signature of the employer and the employee, as well as the date of signature of the agreement.

So, since we know you want to keep employee productivity high and maintain positive revenue growth, we`re here to make sure you have an effective policy for mobile phones in the workplace. Our Mobile Phone Policy for Employees describes our policies for using mobile phones at work. Below are [company name] basic guidelines for the correct use of employees` mobile phones during working hours. In general, mobile phones should not be used if they may pose a security risk or distract from work tasks: improper use of mobile phones may result in disciplinary action. Continued use of mobile phones at inappropriate times or in a way that distracts from work can result in the revocation of mobile phone privileges. Here are five simple steps to implement your own cell phone policy at work. But with a smartphone, people have the opportunity to do all of the above and more while they`re at work. And for some people, the temptation may be too great. We`ve all fallen into the time pit of our smartphone at some point. Doing things that may or may not be useful to our lives – and if we look away from the screen, 20 minutes, an hour, maybe more time has passed forever.

Emergencies happen every day, so it would be a good faith sign for your employees to share their work number with their families. This employee cell phone policy is ready to be tailored to your business needs and should be considered as a starting point for setting up your employment policies. The mobile phone company`s policy can also be called the “No Mobile Phones at Work” policy or a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy. Depending on the phone contract, you can also specify the number of minutes to use and whether long distance calls can be made with the phone. If you want employees to also use their phones for personal calls, you can specify that each monthly bill of a fixed amount will be charged to the employee. Our company reserves the right to monitor employees for excessive or inappropriate use of their mobile phones. If an employee`s use of the phone results in a decrease in productivity or interferes with our business, we prohibit that employee from using their mobile phone. We are aware that smartphones are an integral part of everyday life and are a great advantage when used for productivity apps, calendars, business calls, etc. However, smartphones are a disadvantage for concentration and efficiency when used recklessly and excessively during office hours. Ask employees to keep cell phones silent whenever possible, not to use them during meetings, and to focus cell phone use on work tasks at work. Of course, it`s best to include all of this in your employees` cell phone policy. A policy on cell phone cameras should also be set out in the agreement.

You can specify that the phone`s camera should not be used on company property, as its use could lead to complaints of sexual harassment, other complaints from colleagues, and an invasion of privacy or compromise confidential information. You can also specify that the camera cannot be used in certain areas. Many companies have a cell phone policy to ensure that employees with employer-provided cell phones only make business calls or emails with the phone. This policy is important so that employees know that they should not use these mobile phones for personal use. It is also important that employers include this policy in the employee handbook so that all employees know what their roles and responsibilities are with respect to the use of employer-provided mobile phones. Mobile phones and mobile devices are an integral part of our personal and professional lives. But the ubiquity of this technology has created a unique set of issues that you may not have addressed in your employee handbook. That`s why it`s important to create a cell phone policy at work. Mobile phones should not be allowed to distract employees from work tasks.

They should not be used to surf the Internet or play games during working hours. Mobile phones should never be used while driving, using devices or in situations where they can cause accidents. Your employees are no longer constantly distracted by incoming text messages, phone calls, and warnings on their phones or devices and those of their colleagues. This creates a much more productive work environment. It`s good for your team members and your business. Once you`ve created your cell phone strategy, distribute it to everyone in multiple formats. Send an email to all employees that includes the policy text or a link to view it. If this is not prohibitive, print the cell phone policy and make sure all members of your team receive a printed copy. For example, if someone works for a sales company, they will likely use their work phone more than someone who works in that company`s compliance department.

Therefore, employers can design a general lump sum policy for all employees and then design a department-specific policy for employees who work in a particular department of the company.
